Miss Miller
Allow me to address you with a few lines to inform you that I have just returned from a short visit to Manheim, of which I have no doupt you are aware of. I regret to say that I have not had the honour of paying a visit to you But as I had no one to introduce me to you, I was for maners sake obblight to leave Manheim even without seeing you – Knowing that the is a young man paying his respects to you I do not wish to say much at present, But I wish to make one request of you which is that you will at least permit me to have one intervew with you, ere I bid farwell for ever Indeed it would be most cruel of you to refuse me the request Let me but see the image of my heart once more and I will never more intrude my presence upon you. I know not wether you still think anything of me or not But that matters not or rather I leave that to yourself I have yet one more request to make which is that you will pleace and write me a few lines to Lancaster as soon as you receave this. I intent to return to Manheim in the course of a week or two when I should be happy to see you But dont forget and write to me, no matter what you write If you have anything against me let me know it and if not let me know it also But enough for the present
I remain your
humble admirer
