My dear Mr. Yeates                                                                       Lancaster   January 10, 1792

The letters or petition of Mr. Slaymakers went by the same person that delivered you my letter of the 31 December.   Mr. Montgomery told me he sent them by a very safe conveyance.   I should have wrote to you by the Post but as my letter was to have gone on Sunday and I had nothing more particular to say worth your notice I omitted writing but can readily judge your feeling on the occasion.   I hope you have no reason to expect a visit of the gout that requires you to change your mode of living.   Our days pass very nearly alike.   We dined at Mrs. Hands & Mrs. Smiths since you left us, and I was at the Twelfe, or else I have been out no where.   Mr. Smith is returned very well.   The girls wish to have a gown like their sister Betsey.   if you would get me half a dozen pair of stocking (mine are almost past mending) I will thank you and give you as many kisses when I see you.   The children join me in our love to yourself and our son.   When may we expect the happiness of meeting again?

I remain my dear Mr. Yeates

Your very affectionate and dutiful wife
