The Irish are coming to town, and just in time for St. Patrick's Day. The Ulster Historical Foundation of Belfast, Northern Ireland, will make a special stop in Lancaster on Sunday, March 14 to host a Scots-Irish seminar at LancasterHistory.org , 230 N President Avenue, Lancaster, PA, from 1 to 5 pm.
Dr. Brian Trainor, Director Emeritus of the Public Records of Northern Ireland, and Fintan Mullan, Executive Director of the Ulster Historical Foundation plan to present 4 sessions:
- Intro to Irish and Scots-Irish Family History Research
- Researching the Farming Community in the 18th and 19th Centuries
- Scots-Irish Sources Available for Research by County
- Time permitting: Using Land Valuation & Tithe Applotment
Publications from the U.H.F. will be available both for purchase and for browsing throughout the afternoon; light refreshments will be served. The cost: $50 (non-members) or $45 (members). Take advantage of this special seminar scheduled between major stops in Philadelphia and Florida; made possible by LancasterHistory.org genealogist Kevin Shue and his Irish connections!
