Order Copies and Reproductions

Photocopy Requests for Lancaster County Government Documents Print Email

The search feature on our website allows you to identify specific documents in our collections that will aid in your research. With an exact citation from our website, LancasterHistory.org can provide a photocopy or low-resolution color PDF of historic county documents. These documents include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrators’ Accounts
  • Commissioners’ Orders for Payment
  • Estate Inventories
  • Indictments
  • Quarter Sessions papers
  • Renunciations

There is a minimum fee of $5.00 per reproduction request. Photocopies/PDFs 1-10 pages = $5.00. Fee after the first 10 pages is $0.50 per page. We will provide an invoice showing the number of copies and the amount due.

If you are not able to identify the specific document(s) needed, there is a $5.00 service fee for our staff to research your request.

Photocopy Requests for Archival and Manuscript Documents Print Email

The search feature on our website allows you to identify specific documents in our collections that will aid in your research. With an exact citation from our website, LancasterHistory.org can provide a photocopy or low-resolution color PDF of documents from our Manuscript Groups.

The reproduction rate for photocopies/PDFs is $.50 per page, which includes postage/email. There is a $10.00 service fee ($5.00 for members) for up to 50 pages. For large orders, there will be a $10.00 fee for each additional 50 pages.

Library Microfilm Ordering Service Print Email

Copies can be made for a variety of documents in our collections. The cost is $8.00 ($5.00 for members) per microfilm document to search, copy and send to you. Not all types of documents will be available for a particular person. We do not photocopy Family Files.

The following documents and years are available on microfilm:

  • Deeds: 1729 - 1860's
  • Obituaries: 1798 - date
    Please note that date of death must be provided. Obituaries are not common before the late 19th century.
  • Orphan's Court: 1742 - 1867
  • Wills: 1730 - 1908

To order copies of any of the above microfilm documents, please download, print and complete the Document Order Request Form.

Patrons wishing to request research beyond searches of these document collections can submit a Research Request. (Call the library at  717 392-4633  x119 or email us.)

Journal Orders Print Email

The Journal of the Lancaster County Historical Society has been published for over 100 years. While the full text of every Journal article may not be available on-line, you can search the Library Catalog by author, title, subject or keyword for article citations.

Commercial and Non-Profit Publication and Exhibition Fees Print Email

Patrons requesting reproductions of photographs from our collections for publication and/or public exhibition in any medium must submit an Order Form and Permission to Publish Request. Use fees for any publication or exhibition are charged in addition to image reproduction fees. Please click "Read More," below, to view use fees. No use fee is charged for reproductions of public records.
