“The Tale that River Told”: The Conestoga River

The Conestoga River, “Lancaster’s Mighty Mississippi,” flows through the heart of Lancaster County. A tributary of the Susquehanna River, the Conestoga has been geographically, economically, socially, and culturally central to Lancaster’s history. In celebration of the Lancaster Conservancy’s Water Week program, The Tale that River Told features a selection of large, high resolution historic images showcasing the river’s watery charms.
“The Tale that River Told” is now on display in Stoudt Gallery at LancasterHistory. Admission to this exhibit is included with the purchase of a General Admission ticket or Museum Exhibitions-Only ticket to LancasterHistory. Admission is free for for LancasterHistory members.
