EVENT SOLD OUT
Due to overwhelming response, this event is sold out. Thank you so much for your interest and support! More information, a digital exhibit, and other content about Harriet Lane will be made available to the public after the event. Please check back then.
Join LancasterHistory at Shot & Bottle for a Presidents’ Day History Happy Hour celebrating President Buchanan’s niece and First Lady, Harriet Lane. President Buchanan may be in the bottom tier of U.S. presidents, but there is little doubt that Harriet is one of our finest First Ladies. Pioneering in her time, Harriet deftly navigated Washington society and championed important social causes such as Native American rights, all while wearing a hoop skirt. Drink a Harriet-inspired rose cocktail designed by the mixologists at Shot & Bottle and learn about Lancaster’s First Lady from LancasterHistory’s resident Harriet Lane enthusiast, Stephanie Townrow.
The doors (and bar) open at 5:30pm at Shot & Bottle on Monday, February 17. Stephanie will begin her remarks at 6:15pm. Attendees are welcome to stay until 7:30pm.
Ticket sales are now open! Click here to purchase tickets online. To purchase over the phone, please call 717-392-4633 between the hours of 9:30am and 5pm, Monday – Saturday.
Tickets (cover charge) are $8/person in advance, $10/person at the door. Proceeds from History Happy Hour tickets support LancasterHistory’s educational programs. Event capacity is 120 people, so advance tickets are highly recommended. Door sales are subject to space and may sell-out. (Please note that drinks, food, and merchandise are not included in the purchase of a ticket.) All ages welcome. Must be 21 and older to enjoy a rose cocktail and other alcoholic drinks.
Shot & Bottle is located at 2 North Queen Street in Lancaster, next to Central Market and the City Visitor Center. [Google Map to Shot & Bottle.] Parking is available nearby in garages for a fee.
