Storytime [July 27, 2023]

Gather ’round on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10am for Storytime! Storytime at LancasterHistory takes place among historic buildings, giving children an immersive history experience. A passionate museum educator or volunteer will read aloud from a book centered on a historical theme, and then lead a craft or activity inspired by the theme. On July 27, join us as we read Elizabeth Leads the Way: Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the Right to Vote by Tanya Lee Stone and illustrated by Rebecca Gibbon. We’ll then complete a craft or activity based on the day’s theme (craft/activity to be determined).

Book cover for "Elizabeth Leads the Way" by Tanya Lee Stone.Book Description: “Elizabeth Cady Stanton stood up and fought for what she believed in. From an early age, she knew that women were not given rights equal to men. But rather than accept her lesser status, Elizabeth went to college and later gathered other like-minded women to challenge for the right to vote. Here is the inspiring story of an extraordinary woman who changed America forever because she wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.” [MacMillan Publishers]
