Exceptions to Hours
Learn when LancasterHistory Museum & Research Center and President James Buchanan’s Wheatland will be closed due to special events, holidays, or inclement weather.
There will be a change in operating hours on the following dates:
- Closed Monday, October 19 | All operations of LancasterHistory closed to the public for staff in-service day.
- Partial Closure Monday, November 16 – Friday, November 20 | President James Buchanan’s Wheatland will be closed to the public for tours as staff prepares for Yuletide at Wheatland which begins November 21. All other operations running on regular schedule.
- Closed Thursday, November 26 | All operations of LancasterHistory closed to the public for Thanksgiving Day.
- Partial Closure Friday, November 27 | The Research Center will be closed to the public. All other operations running on regular schedule.
- Closed December 24 & 25 | All operations of LancasterHistory will be closed to the public for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
- Closed December 31, 2026 – Monday, January 18, 2027 | All operations of LancasterHistory will be closed to the public. We reopen for the 2027 Season on Tuesday, January 19, 2027.
