Experience history on April 4, 2020 at President James Buchanan’s Wheatland! In this first-person presentation, visitors will step back in time to the final year of Antebellum America and discover the role President Buchanan played in the fatal split in the Democratic Party. This rift would open a door for Abraham Lincoln and the Republican Party.

The Living History program 1860: The Fatal Year of the Democratic Party takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2020 with tours starting on the hour at 1, 2, and 3pm. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, and guests are advised to arrive 15 minutes prior before their tour entry time for check-in. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the ticket link or by calling (717) 392-4633. Ticketholders are encouraged to bring their printed tickets on paper or ready to scan on an internet-enabled device for check-in.
