2023 Annual Presidential Wreath Laying Ceremony

Join us on Saturday, April 22 at 10am at Woodward Hill Cemetery for the Annual Presidential Wreath Ceremony. Hosted by the Woodward Hill Cemetery, the ceremony features a wreath laying of fresh flowers at the gravesite of James Buchanan, the 15th President of the United States of America. Remarks will be given by presiding officer Assistant Adjutant General MG James McCormack; Ray D’Agostino, Chairman, Lancaster County Commissioners; Richard L. Mendez, Lancaster City Chief of Police; Jean Weglarz, Woodward Hill Cemetery; Nathan Gilchrist, III, Masonic Lodge 43; and Patrick Clarke, Director of President James Buchanan’s Wheatland. An invocation and benediction will be given by Rev. Timothy Mentzer, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Additional ceremony support will be provided by the 328th Brigade Support Battalion, Boy Scout Troop #58, the Lancaster Fencibles, and the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.

Special thanks to the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard for their donation of an American Flag for this year’s ceremony.
