Curator’s Tour of Amending America

On Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 3pm, join Consulting Historian Randy Harris a guided tour of Amending America: The Bill of Rights. The hour-long tour will explore Fourteenth Amendment and one of its chief architects, Thaddeus Stevens. Harris will lead a discussion on the ways in which the goals of the Fourteenth Amendment of equal protection and defining citizenship related to events and activities in Stevens’ life outside of politics – like advocating for free public education in the 1830s and involvement in anti- slavery issues and direct secret Underground Railroad support in Lancaster.
