2018 Pennsylvania Historical Association Annual Meeting

The 2018 Pennsylvania Historical Association Annual Meeting will be held at the Marriott Lancaster Penn Square in Lancaster, PA from October 11 – 13, 2018. LancasterHistory.org is proud to be the local sponsor of the PHA’s 2018 Annual Meeting, and looks forward to welcoming close to 200 historians, public history and museum professionals, and history buffs to Lancaster, PA.

The Program Committee has put together a stellar lineup of paper sessions, plenaries, and round-tables, many dealing with the conference theme of “City, County, Commonwealth & Country: Local and Regional History as America’s History,” as well as a popular Student Research Poster Session highlighting the work of up-and-coming future historians. The conference will kick off with an opening reception and plenary session on Thursday afternoon and eveningon our Campus of History featuring Thomas Gilhool, Esq. speaking on Thaddeus Stevens, Disability and the Enduring Struggle for Civil Rights. All of the Friday and Saturday activities will take place at the Lancaster County Convention Center’s Marriott Hotel.

To register for the conference, please visit the PHA’s website. Lancaster County residents receive a greatly reduced registration rate of $20. (Two lunches and the annual dinner are optional and are an additional fee.) Additional registration rates are listed online and in the paper registration form.
