LancasterHistory.org National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship recipient Adam Shapiro will share findings from his research in the collections on Science & Nature in Lancaster County, 1870-1900. Bring your lunch and your questions!

Adam R. Shapiro is a historian of science in America, currently living in Lancaster. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has taught at universities in the US, Canada and the UK. His first book, Trying Biology: The Scopes Trial, Textbooks, and the Antievolution Movement in American Schools, was published in 2013 by University of Chicago Press. He is currently a National Science Foundation Research Fellow at the Consortium for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine in Philadelphia.
