Gather ’round with LancasterHistory on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 10am for Storytime! Storytime at LancasterHistory takes place among historic buildings, giving children an immersive history experience. A passionate museum educator will read aloud from a book centered on a historical theme, and then lead a craft or activity inspired by the theme. On May, we’ll read L is for Liberty by Wendy Cheyette Lewison. We’ll then complete a craft or activity based on the day’s theme (craft/activity to be determined).
Book Description: “For more than a century, the Statue of Liberty has stood proudly in New York Harbor. Perfect for reading together with a young child, this book celebrates the statue, her history, and the freedom she stands for using simple language and bold, full-color illustrations.” [Scholastic]
This program broadens kids’ historical knowledge, and establishes museum literacy and critical thinking skills. The program is free, and registration is required to ensure we have craft supplies for everyone. Suggested for ages 6 and under. Register for all four Storytime programs or individual programs online or over the phone by calling (717) 392-4633.
Storytime will take place outdoors unless it rains, in which case it will be moved indoors. All attendees should abide by LancasterHistory’s Heath & Safety Protocols for Visitors. We kindly ask that at least one (1) adult, parent, or guardian attend per child.
