Description:   This scrapbook contains information about the late Staff Sergeant Robert Albert Christ. There are photographs, photographic postcards of celebrities, military ephemera, drawings, newspaper articles and an obituary. The majority of the photographs are unidentified. There is also a copy of Christ’s will. Staff Sergeant Christ served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Administrative/Biographical History: Robert Albert Christ

Robert Albert Christ was a Lancaster native who worked at Armstrong Cork Company before enlisting in the United States Army on 23 November 1942. Christ served overseas during World War II as a Staff Sergeant starting on 15 March 1944 until he was killed in action on 2 August 1944. His Purple Heart was presented to his mother, Olive M. McFalls. His mother and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David M. Warfel, held local services for him.
