Description:   With an emphasis on history, this scrapbook contains newspaper articles about some of the major issues that revolved around the Civil War in Lancaster County.  A series called “Marshe’s Journal” was printed in a newspaper about the Civil War and some of the articles were preserved in this volume.  The burning of the Columbia Bridge during the Civil War is the subject of many of the articles.  Another theme represented is the Lancaster County Theater and the theater’s influence on society.  The obituaries and newspaper clippings were pasted onto the pages of a book on the National Bank Act of 14 March 1900.
