Press Room
Welcome to LancasterHistory’s Press Room! This space is a repository for the latest press releases and other information related the organization as a whole, particularly with public outreach and the LancasterHistory brand.

The LancasterHistory Name & Brand

In 2025, the LancasterHistory brand underwent a refresh to better reflect the transformation of the organization within recent years. The LancasterHistory name represents the entire non-profit history organization, and is comprised of the following sites or aspects of the organization: the LancasterHistory Museum & Research Center, President James Buchanan’s Wheatland, the Louise Arnold Tanger Arboretum, and the Thaddeus Stevens & Lydia Hamilton Smith Center for History and Democracy.
LancasterHistory used to be known as the Lancaster County Historical Society or Lancaster County’s Historical Society. The Historical Society name should not be used in a contemporary context to refer to the organization. It may be used in a historic context with the recommended addition of a clarifying statement such as: “Lancaster County Historical Society, now LancasterHistory” or “LancasterHistory, formerly the Lancaster County Historical Society.”
If you have questions about the LancasterHistory brand, please contact Emily Miller, Director of Marketing & Communications, at emily.miller@lancasterhistory.org.
Partners and agencies wishing to use LancasterHistory’s logo or receive an updated logo should contact Emily Miller to obtain permission and receive high-quality files.
