It’s the 20th Annual Valentine’s Gala and LancasterHistory is très passionate about the historic inspiration of the Moulin Rouge. The famous Paris cabaret opened its doors in 1889, and the revolutionary dance hall of the Belle Epoque influenced art, culture, dance, and entertainment across the globe. It attracted local artists and visitors from all over the world, including Lancastrians. Artist Mike Abel has drawn creative and coy inspiration from the era.

We eagerly invite you to join us for a one-of-a-kind, over-the-top celebration of romance and history this February—after all, the Valentine’s Gala only turns 20 years old once!

About & Tickets

The Valentine’s Gala will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 6-11pm at the Hamilton Club, 106 E. Orange Street in Lancaster.

Additional Details

Dress: The Gala is black tie optional, and guests are invited to tap into their French flair… whether haute couture or can-can costume!

Parking: Parking is available on-street or at nearby garages for a fee. If you have any questions about accessible drop off, please contact Annie Weeks in advance.

Hotel: LancasterHistory reserved a room block at Marriott Penn Square. Guests can go online or call to reserve their room at ph. 717-239-1600 for the discounted rate of $118 plus tax. Parking onsite is included. Advanced reservations are required by January 20.

Online Auction: Show—and share!—your love of history this Valentine’s Day! From February 8 – 14th, join LancasterHistory’s Online Valentine’s Auction, and be part of our largest annual fundraising effort for educational programming at LancasterHistory! The Online Auction will begin on Thursday, February 8 at 10am ET. Bidding closes at 5pm ET on Wednesday, February 14.
