Description: This collection contains a handwritten biography on Ben Keywood, newspaper articles, and biographical information  and published works of Samuel Steman Haldeman.  Haldeman was a 19th century scientist from Chickies Creek who studied language, archaeology,  and a variety  of sciences including zoology, entomology, geology, and chemistry.  Some of Haldeman’s published works include A Monograph of the Freshwater Univalve Mollusca of the United States and original copies of the Pennsylvania Farm Journal.  This collection is an overview of his career.
