Description:  This collection contains reunion programs of the Ranck family from 1928 to 2002, lists of descendents from 1983 to 2000, minutes from 1976 to 2002, and letters and correspondence pertaining to the Ranck clan.

Folder 1  Each of the seven programs, dating from 1928-1938, contains a brief history of the arrival and settlement of the Ranck family in America, a list of officers and executive committee members, and program of the reunion.  The programs from 1936 onward also include an illustration and description of the Ranck Coat of Arms (in English and French).  The program of 1937 include a family song written by Dr. E. M. Ranck.

Note: The 1930 program has a tear half way down the edge of the front cover.  The 1936 program is missing a back cover and the top portion of the last page has been cut out.

 

Folder 2  Each program includes a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms, a program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members (expanded to include historical and program committees), and verses of songs.  The 1946 program includes the “Ranck” song.  The programs from 1947-1949 contains a short history and historical sketch by Edw. Shippen, Jr.

Note: Two copies of reunion programs from years 1946, 1948, and 1949, and single copy of the 1947 program.  There is a hole in the front cover of one of the programs from 1948.  The center page of one of the programs of 1946 has separated completely.

 

Folder 3  Each program, from 1950-1954, contains a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms, program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members, songs, and including a short history, historical sketch, and/or historical review by Iola S. Ranck.

Folder 4  Each program, from 1955-1958, contains a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms, program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members, songs, and short history.

Folder 5  Each program, from 1960-1975, contains a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms on the front cover, the program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members and their addresses, and a historical sketch or Ranck family history.  The 1966 program includes a small mention of the division of land in the Ranck family.  Programs from 1973 onward include a mention of the Ranck cemeteries.

 

Folder 6  Each program, from 1976-1989, contains a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms on the front cover, the program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members and their addresses.  The 1976 and 1978 programs include a lengthier historical sketch.  Programs from 1981 onward omit family history, but include a section on the Ranck family cemeteries and obituaries. 

The 1986 program include a page of memoriam for Rev. George Seldomridge Rank and a map of the Penn Grant to the family and the division of land since then.

 

Folder 7  Each program, from 1990-1995, contains a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms on the front cover, the program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members and their addresses, information on the Ranck cemeteries, a empty section for reunion notes, and mentions of how to secure Huguenot Crosses.

 

Folder 8  Each program, from 1996-2002, contains a brief description and illustration of the Ranck Coat of Arms on the front cover, the program of the reunion, lists of officers and committee members and their addresses, information on the Ranck cemeteries, a empty section for reunion notes, and mentions of how to obtain genealogy records and Huguenot Crosses.

 

Folder 9  Contains the annual “Who’s Who” list of descendents, including each member’s names, address, occupation, and age.

Folder 10  Contains the minute summaries of each Ranck reunion. 

Insert 1  1976 (3pg) include a letter on consideration of the replacement of a trustee of the Ranck Clan Cemeteries.

Insert 2  1996 (2pgs), also include a letter from Harriet M. Ranck on the concerns raised in updating the Ranck genealogical records and attached correspondence between John Ronk and P. J. Ranck (9pgs).

Insert 3  1997 (1pg), 1998 (2pgs) contains hand written notes on minutes, 1999 (1pg), 2000 (1pg)

Insert 4  2001 (2pgs) contains a summary of the 2001 reunion including attendees and activities, 2002 April minutes (2pg) and October minutes (1pg)

 

Folder 11  Contains a letter on the establishment of the J. Allan Ranck Memorial Scholarship at the Lebanon Valley College. 1979. 

There is also a letter from Ezra H. Ranck to Mrs. Vera Poole, requesting a contribution towards the printing of the Ranck genealogy records, “The Ranks of the Rancks.” 1983.  Also includes a list of names on the nominating committee, date unknown.
