Scope and Content:   This collection of five scrapbooks is a pictorial history and news history recollecting Lancaster County’s involvement in World War II. It discusses innovations and advancement made technologically during the war. The books contain articles about local soldiers who were stationed around the world during World War II in places such as Normandy, Italy, New Guinea, Africa, Japan, France, Philippines, Iceland, Australia, Ireland, and Guadalcanal. There are also lists of soldiers in each of the books either announcing commissions, promotions, prisoners of war, missing in action and/or killed in action during World War II.
