#OnThisDay in 1965, members of the George Ross Society, Children of the American Revolution were photographed planting a memorial white oak tree at LancasterHistory (formerly known as Lancaster County Historical Society). The tree was planted to commemorate the then senior president of the historical society. The members in the photo are Carolyn Hoober, state librarian- curator; Louis Hassoldt, conservation chairman; William Hassoldt, Alice Zimmerman, and Philip Hammond.
