Past, Present, Pumpkins!

Learn about the autumnal icon, the pumpkin, at this fun, family-friendly event on Saturday, October 17 at 10am! Celebrate fall at LancasterHistory’s family-friendly Pumpkin Adventure! Discover the history behind our love of pumpkins, enjoy a pumpkin hunt across the grounds, and decorate your own pumpkin to take home.

Perfect for families and children 3-8 years of age (though all ages welcome!). Tickets are $5/Child and free for Adults. (Ticket price goes towards the purchase of supplies.) Advance registration is required to guarantee supplies for everyone. LancasterHistory requests the presence of at least one (1) adult per household.

Holiday Greens & Bake Sale

Get in the festive spirit and pick up some fresh greens at the Friends of the Tanger Arboretum’s Holiday Greens Sale! Peruse a selection of fresh greenery and homemade baked goods on Saturday, December 5 from 11am – 2pm or until sold out. Cash and card accepted.

Proceeds benefit the Louise Arnold Tanger Arboretum, an 11-acre arboretum on the grounds of LancasterHistory’s Museum & Research Center. The sale is facilitated by the Friends of the Tanger Arboretum, a subsidiary of LancasterHistory dedicated to the care and conservation of the Tanger Arboretum as a community asset. Campus of History Cheer

This is the event where history meets holiday cheer! Join us for a day of festivity and merriment, with a storytime for children, a holiday greens and bake sale benefitting the Tanger Arboretum, and an opportunity to explore Wheatland at your own pace with guides stationed around the house ready to share stories of Christmas traditions from the time of James Buchanan.
